Sightseeing
Since I got a new camera specifically for this new adventure I have been taking tons of pictures. These are some of my favorites.
Dinner for 100!
A friend of mine, Jim Haynes has been hosting dinner parties every Sunday for over 30 years now. I can join the ranks of people who said they've not only attended one of his parties but I along with one other person successfully cooked dinner for 100 people.
Michael and I cooked all day Saturday and all day Sunday and let me tell you, it was down to the wire! We made a Mexican feast which was very received(not much Mexican food around these parts). My classical French cuisine training is already paying off :)
The best thing about these parties are the people you meet. You will find all different people from all around the world from an Estonian opera singer to a Cordon Bleu student from Oklahoma to a Video game designer from Osaka. Eclectic doesn't begin to describe it.

Notre Dame visit
Sunset over Paris
I am just getting settled in to my apartment here in the Marais district of Paris. This was taken last night during sunset off of my terrace. This picture describes the feeling of being here - it's too good to be true! Today is my 5th day here and I have already done and seen so much. Bateau on the Seine, climbed to the top of Notre Dame, marche au Montparnasse, and most exciting of all today is my birthday and my first day of school at Le Cordon Bleu. Good night Paris.

Crested Butte for the 4th
I'm going up to Colorado for the 4th of July, wooot! I'm so excited to see all my locals and hang out with my parents for a few days.
Did you know that the largest colony of aspen trees is in Crested Butte? It is not only the largest colony of trees but is the largest living organism in the entire world!!! They all share the same root system which connects them all together!
